It just occurred to me that Emmsy could be a nn for Emily, Emma, etc., taking its lead from Betsy (love), Bitsy (shudder), etc.
My reaction:
It's so cutesy it's sickening, but then, it's pretty cute... sort of.

(I love Emmie, but it's overdone. But I guess if you use Emma or Emily, you don't really care about that.)
(I also find Millie as a nn for Emily sickening. Millie in general is just... sticky and sad.)

Y'know Bitsy rather grew on me after I watched the Alienist. The Bitsy on there is a neat fringe character and now it makes me think of a tough career girl from 1890s New York.
One of the Emmas I know went by "Emz" or "Emzie" sometimes, so it works! I think I prefer Ems or Emsie, seems a bit softer.

It's fine as a childhood nickname within the home but later on it would be too cutesy. It kind of makes you wonder where the S comes from. I like Emmie better.
I dislike Millie as well but it would never occur to me to call an Emily Millie just as it wouldn't occur to me to call an Aidan Dan or an Aaron Ron (I once met a Dan and found out years later that it was short for Aidan and it was so confusing hahaha).

Emmsy sounds like someone's gooey nn for their grandmother Emily. Like Mimsy or Momsy or something.
Millie doesn't really make all that much sense as a nn for Emily. And it sounds like a flaky, flighty old lady who's always getting scammed and falling off stepladders and atacked by chipmunks.

I know a few Emmas who have gone by Emz, so I think Emmsy / Emzie could work.
