I used to love it, but it can come off a bit old lady, and I know a lot of people detest it. I now prefer Nora by itself. However, I've considered using a variant of Eleanor as a full name for Nora, as I've dated someone with a last name that flowed terribly with Nora. Specifically we considered Ellinor nn Nora.

Ellinor is a Scandinavian spelling that feels a little fresher and less old-lady imo, but I still think Eleanor is still a pretty, respectable name, with lots of great namesakes--like Eleanor Roosevelt. So if you love it, go for it.

I like it. It has a quiet dignity and elegance about it. And I think of Eleanor Roosevelt, one of my most favorite US First Ladies.

I dislike Eleanor and feel it is clunky in comparison to some of the other classical names and preference most of the other El- prefixed names before it.. tho I don't hate it by any stretch. I do like Eleanora

Eleanor is a lovely name, even if its surge in popularity is a bit concerning for a namenerd like myself. I really enjoy the Elle nickname, too; but Nell, Len, and Nora also work.

I've used Eleanor Ivy, Eleanor Jane, and Eleanor Odette as combos.

I like it very much, and Elinor as well. Probably wouldn't use it IRL because if I had enough daughters to consider it, I'd also have already considered and used Helen. I know they aren't the same name, but they sound so very similar that I'd have to choose one, and it would be Helen.

I think it's a beautiful classic with a lovely meaning. I really like old-fashioned names so I may be a bit biased!

It's a lovely name, but its resurgence in popularity has caused its charm to dwindle for me.

I don't like it at all. It's not got an attractive sound. El-uh-ner or el-a-nore, either pronunciation does not appeal to me. Plus it's so dated and old-lady. Ugh!!

I love Eleanor. I know it was spelled differently but Eleanor of Aquitaine is one of my favourite wives from a group of rulers known as Britain’s Bloodiest Dynasty the Plantagenets.

Beautiful. It sounds dignified and queenly but still familiar and approachable. I like that it ends in R.
