I think this name is dull and needs to be retired. Also, it sounds...squirmy to me.

I love Samuel too, it was my #1 boys' name when I was younger. I use it as a MN now but I enjoy hearing it as a FN.

I’m watching Saved by the Bell right now, so it reminds me of Screech. The name is kinda boring but not bad.

I prefer Samson personally

I dislike all Sam- names, male and female, and the nns Sam and Sammy. And I always have; I've never had a bad experience with a Samantha or a Samuel, Samson etc, so it's just the look and the sound of the names that bug me. As for "God has heard", it doesn't seem particularly meaningful in the God-free world that I live in.

I don't like the "mule" thing, but I like Sam. I prefer Samwise and Samwell.

Great name, a classic that will never go out of style. I love Sam, Sammy is cute too and the name ages well. Plus the meaning is lovely.
