I think Molly could work. It's nice as a nn for Mahalia imo. Btw I'd pronounce Mahalia as mah-HAH-lee-ah.
When I see this name, I picture a black haired girl with this name, but it wouldn't be THAT out of place on a reddish-blonde girl.
