In my mind, Andrea is linked to Anthea. I prefer Anthea, though... but Andrea lacks "th", which is a huge plus, imo.
And pronunciation: is it AN-dree-ə, or an-DREH-ah?

I always used to like Andrea "Andi" when I was younger but it's not a favourite anymore. I just find that it lacks oomph / spunk / pizzazz, whatever you want to call it, Andrea is a tad boring. Still, it's not a bad name.

As a male name in Italy, it's OK. As a female name in English, I really don't enjoy it at all, though it is better than Andrew, which seems to me incurably feeble and dull.
