One of my childhood best friends was a Sheena. Sheena Kathleen I believe, and she looked exactly like you might imagine - green eyes, red hair, freckles. Her parents were hardcore Scottish. She was one of three sisters: Tara, Sheena, and Shea'lan. I always thought it was such a cool set and that Sheena had such a fantastic name.

Sheena is a really fun name, and it does have a hard 80s edge to it, in a good way. Spunky, as you say. I guess Sheena probably is a mom now, and I bet she is spunky.

We'd always had Scottish terriers, and once a Westie. Then we got a golden Spaniel puppy whose fur was remarkably glossy compared to the terriers', so I named her Sheena. She was very beautiful but didn't have much personality; fabulous eyelashes, though.

Sheena was a punk rocker.

This name, at least in the US, was very much a flash in the pan. It was around for a short time and then sank like a stone.
