[Opinions] June
So I noticed that little ol' June is creeping back up the charts! Re-debuting at #869 in 2008, after not charting for over twenty years, it's now shot up to #184 in 2020!
I'm fond of the name June, and it totally follows the pattern that I'm predicting, with sturdier names making a comeback after the rich whipped-cream diet of Isabellas, Olivias and Charlottes people have been gorging themselves on.
June is cute as a button but still competent and capable in my eyes. What do you think of June?

It feels almost too cheery and summery, I feel it'd fit a horse better than a human.
its ok
Beautiful for me, but I do prefer April a bit more.
I think of it as trendy-retro. I think it's become a filler name.
It's appealing to people like Rose, Grace, Jade, Jean are...it can be all those in one.
It packs a punch but is a basket full of sunshine.
My associations are June Jordan poetry and Junie B Jones.
I also think it's passably unisex, like Jun / Juni as a masculine NN.

I have a similar opinion about June. But honestly, I think it's a bit boring and slightly dated still--maybe because I know someone in their 50s named June. I'd rather see a variant of June used, with June or Junie for short.
I also like the Korean boys name, Joon, and like Juneau and Juniper on boys.

Hahaha I don’t follow K-pop or K-drama too closely. I’ve just met a lot of Koreans.
I really liked it back in the 00s. Then I decided the sound wasn't really that appealing to me.
But I agree with you about its image and I'd be very happy to see it come back strong.
June is like Jane but more flexible, or like Summer but with more energy.
Reminds me of June Carter Cash. Also of a tall gal named June that I knew, born around 1975, who rocked a pixy cut when it was out of style, and would wear a tool kilt as fashion. The name has never seemed "old" to me, even though it ages well. It's kinda more like Jackie than it is like like Jean.

June is definitely interesting. I think part of the reason it's shooting up again is because of the handmaid's tale TV series. Whenever a name is reintroduced in pop culture and the character is favorable, it tends to make a difference in its popularity. I generally favor Jane over June but it depends on the context with me. Occasionally I'll favor June over Jane with certain sibsets or in context of character name picking. Jane feels more girly and girl next door but June feels more down to earth and a little more unique in personality. I imagine a June being popular with the artsy kids in school.
Ps I appreciate your very colorful analogy lmao

I love June. I can't believe it left the top 1000. Talk about under the radar. It's just a lovely name.
I don't like this name, sorry.
It has been creeping up for years and I like it, but not enough to use.
It is way better than Juno.
