Help[Opinions] Bluebell
So, I saw this name in another post on a list of currently "posh" names used in the UK, and it got me thinking about it. The area I live in has a lot of bluebells, and I live just off of Bluebell Road. I guess bluebells are a "thing" around here.
Part of me thinks this name is very silly but another part of me would totally use it. In terms of flower names it's really "out there" which gives it a fun sort of wacky glitter. Plus it's very "posh" in terms of UK references, which is exotic to me. I'd love to be friends with a Bluebell. It screams "I'm a fun eccentric".
It DOES make me think of a little dog, I will say that, but a lot of fashionable UK names have little dog energy to me, so that's not entirely a bad thing.

It's kind of cool. I think a Spice Girl used it for her daughter quite some time ago (10 years +).
It comes with nice nicknames, you can use Belle or Blue or Bella.
The flower is nice.
I think it will get used more but it won't get super popular because:
1) the belle/bel/bell/bella - phase is almost over
2) Blue even feels slightly dated because so many celebs used it some time ago
3) many people told me they think of cows (I don't)

Bluebell and her younger sister Harebell:) I love bluebells, but the name seems too childish, even as a SN.
And if I'm not mistaken, it's one of the favourite flowers in the UK.

It sounds like a cow to me. Probably why the ice cream company called itself Bluebell.

Bluebell would make a darling, GP middle name. Agatha Bluebell, Marjorie Bluebell, Jemima Bluebell, Rosamund Bluebell, Antigone Bluebell (nn Tiggy, Tiggybell)?
That said, having a funky flower first name doesn't seem to have held back actress Honeysuckle Weeks. And the nn Blue or Bel is always available if she doesn't like Bluebell. I'm still iffy on it as a fn though. I have a thing for using Foxglove and Nightingale but wouldn't have the courage to use them as first names. They all have a kind of Shakepearean wildflower vibe. :0)

I like bluebells. They're so dainty and mellow and hardy.
I'd rather be named Bluebell than most other flower names, which puts it in a group with Iris, Azalea, Coriander, Verbena, Marigold. Iris and Marigold seem kind of posh to me. And I've been liking Blossom lately...I don't think Bluebell is sillier than Blossom; they both seem like nice hobbit names...

It makes me think of a cow. It does have eccentric flower/nature vibes, like something a hippy would name their daughter. I don't like it at all. I'd prefer just Blue or Belle actually.
