Noice! I used to like it when I was around 8-9 years old, I still like it, but I prefer Raine or Rayne.

I prefer Raine best. It looks the most straight forward as name material and has less fuss while also not looking like just the word. Rayne and Rayn look weird I generally dislike the Ys for Is trend in general

Rain is such a cool name, I’ve been fond of it for years. I much prefer it for a girl than a boy. The only spelling that I like is Rain. Rainy makes a cute nn too.

As a first name I only like it on a girl. Actually I almost like Rayne better since it seems like a name. As a middle name I like it both for girls or boys.

I don't mine Raine so much. Rain is a bit too blunt and Rayn and Rayne are too emo for me, but Raine is ok. Maybe because it seems surnamey. I'm used to Raine for a girl (I immediately think of Barbara Cartland's daughter/Princess Diana's stepmother), but I could see it on a boy too. Yeah, Raine. I like it.

I like it. Not enough to use it, even in a story, but I wouldn't mind someone else using it. I think it sounds pretty and I love rain so much.I see it as very unisex but it depends on the spelling.Personally I like Rayne even though that's a travesty and goes against my normal spelling preferences.

Don't like it at all

I go back and forth on this name. Sometimes I love it. Sometimes I find it borderline cheesy. I think I lean towards the "Raine" spelling visually. But then "Rain" seems more like a nature name, which is part of the appeal. Prefer it for a girl, I think.

It was one of my favourites as an 10-11 yr old. I liked Raine most.
I don’t like it anymore but I still prefer Raine or Rayne (I use to be obsessed with Ray names)

I honestly don't see the point of it. I don't enjoy weather names in general: Summer, etc; Storm; even Gale! And rain, while very necessary, can also be destructive and, metaphorically, sad, depressing, similar to tears (isn't there a song called Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain, where blue and rain emphasise the unhappiness?). And the fact that it sounds like Reign, which some people also use as a name, doesn't help. However, Botswana is permanently drought-stricken. Its flag is the cool blue-grey of water, and its currency is the Pula, which is seTswana for Rain. Mapula (muh POO luh, with the OO as in foot, not boot) is commonly used as a given name, usually though not always feminine. So, these things can happen.
