I like Ember! I could only really see it on a redhead though. And I do think people could mishear it for Amber,

Lol this is one of my online alias names. I picked it in middle school because it seemed like a cool, hipster choice. People will occasionally *usually* confuse it for Amber though is a problem I sometimes face and it's just a fake name, not even my real one. I greatly prefer Ember over Amber in a similar fashion that I greatly prefer Eva over Ava but like the latter the confusion potential is there and it's real.

I have been finding myself liking Ember lately. I’m a big fan of Amber (like most gemstone names), but Ember seems like a fresh take on it. Ember seems modern and Amber is ‘80s/90’s.

Where I live, Ember and Amber tend to sound the same when said by people who speak Afrikaans as their first language. English speakers use Amber, but I've never seen a local usage of Ember.

I do find the popularity of Ember surprising, but in a world where people are named Ash, perhaps I shouldn't.

I LOVE the name Ember! It’s one of my top names should I be blessed with another DD one day actually. There is a story to go with it, but that’s potentially for a later date. It’s not getting popular here in Australia, not to my knowledge anyway. I see Ember and Amber as two entirely different names, although they sound so similar. I also don’t find Amber dated and have always really liked the name. I do think an Ember will probably be mistaken for Amber, but you can get past that.

I like Ember. I don't really like Amber. I get a really different feeling from each of them.
Ember seems modern-style like Autumn, Willow, Piper, Ivy, Winter, River, Nova.
Amber seems 70s-ish, like Heather, Kimberly, Misty, Crystal, Kelly.
I guess they are really similar though.
The existence of Emberly makes me really sad. I've never liked Kimberly, and don't like thinking of Ember as similar to it at all.
