[Opinions] Josephine
What do you think of Josephine? When I first joined BtN, everyone loved this name. Do you still love it? What would you use as a nickname? What would you name a brother and sister?
Thanks.

I don't know if I ever loved Josephine, but I have always liked Joseph, Serafina, and three syllable names.
I think Josephine is like a sepia photograph. It's muted and maybe artful. It's understated, not without dignity.
Probably wouldn't use a NN, but if I did, Jo.
Sibling could be: Violet, Florence, Isabel, Julian, Emanuel, Christopher.

I don’t dislike it, but I’m not all rosy-cheeked over it anymore either. It was refreshing for a bit, but then it got lost in the old lady wave. Plus, it’s just not a pretty name. The sound isn’t super appealing, to me at least.
I’d prefer no nickname. Josie is horrible.
Josephine, Marigold, and Peter

Beautiful.
Josephine is a name I've loved since I was a little girl, in huge part because there were women with the name who impacted my life positively: pre-school teacher, first person to cut my hair, etc. It's a name that's always in my periphery if not actually in my Top 10, and one I'd gladly use in real life.
For nicknames, I'm more partial to Josie than Jo, though the latter isn't bad.
Josephine's siblings would likely have names like Theodore, Caroline, Victoria, Edmund, and other Victorian / Belle Époque names.

When I joined everyone liked it, I guess. And loved Eloise, imo.
Do you still love it?
Well, I like Josephine, it's not everlasting love, but it's a beautiful and so-called classy name.

It's nice, but I can't see myself naming my baby this. I like it as a middle name. It's nice to hear on someone else though. I had a customer named Josephine who was a woman. It's popular on young girls now.
I don't think it's very attractive at all. The feen ending sounds like some chemical, probably not good to breathe and might leave a gummy residue on the windows or something.
I think Jo is cute as a nn but if I wanted to use it I'd use the full name Joanna. I also like Jodi but would just use it by itself.
