I knew a Dixie once. She was a very sweet lady, it made me see the name in a nice light. It made me think of honey and summertime. Of course, this was when I was very young and didn't know anything about politics or what the word Dixie "means". It was also in Canada, where Dixie doesn't have the same connotations as it does in the South.
