It feels like one of those situations where people try to name their kid after something luxurious or exotic to try and sound wealthy or worldly, but it just comes across as cheap.
It’s different as a boy’s name because while I’d assume a girl was named after the city, I’d assume a boy was named after the character from mythology. That gives it more substance for me, though it’s still not my personal taste.
