[Opinions] Juliet
Thoughts on Juliet?
I have always really liked it but not really enough to use.
Do you say JOO-lee-et or joo-lee-ETT?
What about Juliette?
Usable or too tragic?

I like it, but I don’t think I will personally consider it. It’s totally usable.
Juliet is the only fem form of Julius that I like at all. I love the Shakespeare connection! But, nns like Julie and (shudder) Jules seem inevitable, so I'd only use it as a mn.
Definitely stress on the first syllable. ETA, jooleeETT doesn't fit into iambic pentameters! Nobody says romeeOH.
Juliette is fine in Francophone places, but not elsewhere; plus, it encourages Anglophones to emphasise the third syllable.

Definitely usable, I say joo-lee-ETT and prefer Juliet. However, I never got on the Juliet / Juliette bandwagon, I know at one point it was a widespread board favorite (or perhaps even still is?).
I don’t hate it, I’ve just never liked it.
Edit: I much prefer Julia. :)

I like it JOO lee at, I prefer the Juliet spelling, yes usuable
I like it. But it's not top tier for me. No baggage, though. I'd use a lot of Shakespearean names and many are tragic to some degree.
I like Juliet a lot, especially as a middle name. I say "joo-lee-ETT". I think it's usable, no issues at all! Although I don't mind a bit of a dark, tragic tinge in my names. It's no more tragic to me than something like Cordelia or Christabel. It's more vaguely "literary".
Juliette is OK but those extra letters irk me a bit.

I love Juliet, it’s one of my favorite names and is currently on my shortlist for a girl. Juliette is all right but I don’t like it as much, it’s a little too overwrought.
I pronounce it with the emphasis on the final syllable, so joo-lee-ETT.
