Hendrix is trendy in the US.
I do get a stodgy vibe from it, like

Percival, but it's simpler than those. I think that's the appeal: it's formal (or like dressy casual, between
Harold and
Harry) and old and just itself, yet not as boring as
John,
James,
William; it's a bit more like
George,
Louis,
Patrick.
