It's pretty. I always had a bit of a soft spot for it. It is usable, after all she can still switch to Allie if she thinks it's too unusual. And people are called Carolina and Georgia too. And Florida in some cases.

I like it, but only as a MN, same for Jessika.
Way better than Ed Sheeran's Lyra Antarctica or Antarktika as a spelling variant.
The only child I've heard of with this name is a daughter of Rammstein member Sven Kruspe aka Richard Z. Kruspe, Maxime Alaska Bossieux.
(other kids are Khira Li Lindemann & Merlin Besson)

I've never been to Alaska, but one day I would love to go . I used to have a stuffed Polar Bear that I really loved as a young child. On it's scarf it said Alaska, so I named him Alaska. As a name, meh. I would prefer it as a middle name. I like honoring things with the middle name most of the time. I really like the name Savannah for a girl, a lot. That's a city in Georgia that a lot of people are aware of and there's the African Savanna as well. I guess you could compare Alaska to other well known place names too like Savannah, Georgia, Carolina, Alexandria, Knox (Knoxville), Raleigh, Marion, Marietta, Conway, Madison and so on. Overall, I think it would fit with the place name trend. It's alright, but I personally wouldn't use it.

I was actually thinking about Alaska as a name the other day. I can’t tell if I like it or not.
