[Opinions] Galadriel
One of my "guilty pleasures" for a girl is the name Galadriel. What do you think of this name?

I love it! Every name got made up at some point in history and they are all used today so why not this name? Galadriel has a really mystical sound to it imo. Its a guilty pleasure of mine too. If you want to use it I say go for it(& I"m not saying this because I'm a LOTR fanatic) :). You could come up with a few cute nn's for this too. Some I already saw were Adriel (which I think is beautiful), Gala, Gali, Ali, Adri, Riel, Rie, El ... yada yada you get the picture. :D

I really love it, it's so pretty. But there is no way that I'd ever use it, as I love Tolkien's world and histories so much that I'd never 'cheapen' them by using any of the names he created on a real-life person. Just my opinion.

It's beautiful. i'm not a LOTR fan(nothing against it, just not into it) so i like the name for itself.
Galadriel is probably one of my favourite characters in the LOTR world and I quite like the name, especially its meaning. I also like her mother-name, Nerwen, though I'm not too crazy about the meaning of it, 'man-maiden.'
I suppose I could consider it a GP of mine because I would have to be on a humongous LOTR kick to actually name my daughter this, lol. It's very regal-sounding, though. :)

I think it sounds very pretty, but it's so heavily LOTR that if I met a girl named Galadriel I'd ask if her parents really enjoyed the books or what.
I do think it sounds cute on a pet though.

I knew I knew it from somewhere but I'm not too into LOTR. I really like the name though and I don't think it will be much of a problem with association depending on where you are from.
I've always thought that Galadriel was a lovely name. It's too LOTR for me to use, but it's still nice.
