I definitely prefer Ceres with the soft "s" rather than hard "k", but... I think the best way of explaining it, is that with a long 'eez' ending, it sounds like "series", and I prefer (or naturally say) a shorter vowel on the second syllable. Not that the long 'ee' way isn't beautiful, I just heard 'series' one day and couldn't unhear it.
Nice to see you like Nadezhda too! It gets a mixed response from people, but it's one of the names that I'm pretty set on using in one way or another, and if I ever have a daughter it'd probably be the one to beat for the MN place.
