[Opinions] Re: Melody
I know one shouldn't, but like many teachers I associate (some) names with past pupils. And that puts Melody right at the bottom of every known list. Exactly like the 13-year-old in my long-ago class, Melody is genuinely pretty as a word and a concept, but as a name for a person it is grotesquely inappropriate. The one I knew was very beautiful, but a liar and a cheat and too lazy to think for herself at all, so constantly surprised at being caught out, yet again ... it was fascinating, actually: I was a first-year teacher, and when I met that class Melody stood out for her sweet-faced beauty, but by the end of the first week, I could no longer see her as lovely in any way.Her parents were prosperous, and used money to solve their problems, including making their daughter go away and be happy somewhere else.
