I love the pronunciation Hih-LAY-nuh. Helen-uh sounds like someone's confused about Helen.

Pronunciation issues: HEHlina? heLEEna? I'd use Eleanor, Elinor or, probably, Helen instead.

I find it elegant and beautiful, compared to stuffy, boring Helen.

Helena is a favorite of mine.

It has very recently creeped into my favorites list after a lifetime of disliking it. I’d use “Nell / Nellie” as nicknames.
