I have a slight appreciation for this name after reading Peyton Place. That gives it a bit more weight. But the first real-life Peyton I ever met was the spoiled daughter of a hog farmer, so the name has a slightly piggy association, in kind of a bad way. And that's the thing that turns me off of it. It seems like a caricature of an annoying, bratty girl. It's not very likeable. At the same time, I admire its clipped sounds. It's one of the few names in my accent that gets that nice crisp T, and I enjoy that.
