I actually like it a lot. It’s floral but not overtly so, and while it may seem somewhat dated, I think it could easily come back. I’m in my early 20s and have only met one Heather, but she was the same age as me so it wasn’t like it was an older person-only kind of name.Plus, between the movie Heathers, the musical based on the film (which is pretty successful and often done at schools and community theaters now), AND the 2020 Conan Gray song Heather, I think the name is still around enough for it to be usable.

I've always thought that it was pretty. The Total Drama character, though...ugh. I've always hated her.

OK, it's dated; but it's also one of the very few plant names that I like enough to use. When I was a kid I thought that Heather and Erica would be wonderful names for twins; I've got over that, but it's still got a happy, lively, outdoorsy vibe that's very attractive.

Someone else thought of that too. Heather and Erica were the twins from Degrassi.

Never heard of Degrassi, and I doubt if the scriptwriters (?) have ever heard of me ... I wouldn't be surprised to encounter real-life ones, somewhere in the world.

It’s alright. I do kind of like the combos Heather Rose & Heather Marie.

I really like the plant. It's nice and nature-y but unfortunately also 70s/80s dated. But because it fits in with flower and nature names it wouldn't feel out of place nowadays.

It's SO 80s. I never knew a Heather who wasn't snobby and awful. It's like the movie cursed all Heathers.

I can't have a straightforward opinion of Heather. It's the name of a good friend but it's also the name of my ex-husband's wife. I'm so confused.
