[Opinions] Roscoe
What do you think of Roscoe? Is the association with the goofy sheriff from The Dukes of Hazzard still too strong? And how do you like the sound of it anyway?

This is a total dog name to me.

I've never seen the Dukes of Hazzard, so, no problem there for me. I adore Roscoe! I'd totally use it.

I've never seen the show though I know of it. I know there was a movie with Jessica Simpson a few years ago so there may be some people who would think of that association but I don't think its pervasive. I'm of the opinion of Maggie that it's a dog name, for me. I've never known a human Roscoe but I've known a few dog Roscoes. It's not a bad name though.

Don't like it

It's definitely in the "dog name" camp for me.

Haven't seen "Dukes of Hazzard", so I can't really say anything about an association with it. But otherwise, it's a old-fashioned classic, and I kinda like it.

I like it - and I should probably point out that I've never watched The Dukes of Hazzard (I was born in the early nineties, if that helps), so there's no association for me. Roscoe is sophisticated to my ears, but still recognizable (due to its similarity to Ross, which could conceivably be a nickname).

I like the name Roscoe. The Dukes of Hazzard is more my parents' generation. I can't name any of the characters from that show, so I doubt kids today would be able to.

Don’t know the character. Roscoe is a 5/10. Neutral, but not a bad sound. It reminds me of Rascal.
