[Opinions] Decade stereotypes
There've been a few posts recently that got me thinking about this (the Carlie post specifically). What are the names from each decade that you think fit the following stereotypes:Jock/Frat Boy
Nerd
Mean Girl
Girl Next Door
PopularOr any other stereotypes you can think of, for whichever decades come to mind.
For example, Mean Girl names to me, from each decade:70s - Tracy
80s - Heather
90s - Carly
00s - Mackenzie

Heather is funny because it makes me think 70’s mostly because that’s pretty much when it reached its peak, but I can see the 80s thing because of the movie. As for the 2000’s, the funny part about it is I can see Mackenzie as a mean girl name easily because of Dork Diaries. Personally...70s:Jock/Frat: Michael

I also tend to associate Jessica with mean girls. I knew a lot of mean Jessicas growing up in the 90s.

I'll use some British stereotypes, but it'll be very much based on my own school experience in the 2000sThe Swot = Kyle, Alice, Lucy, RobertMosher = Sean, Chelsea, Shannon, Morgan [M/F]Scene Kid = Alex [M/F], Kacey, Blake, Kimberly [F]Cool Girl / Groovy Chick = Jessica, Madison [F], MeganThe Chav/Scally = Gaz / Gazzer, Leigh, McKenzie [F], Daryl, Jade

Oh man Blake and Kimberly as scene kids is hilarious to me, because those are such preppy names from my experience. And Kimberly is pretty dated, I'd expect any I met to be 30+ years old lolI love seeing the different associations names have in other countries - thanks for sharing :)What is swot though? Is that preppy? That's what I'd assume from the names...
