Beautiful name, beautiful meaning, and a beautiful place. All in all just gorgeous. It makes me think of a blooming flower in May. Feminine, classic, and sophisticated. I like the French pronounciation for boys though. Anything else sounds a bit odd on a male.
I think it would be absolutely gorgeous as Florence Lililan, Florence Katherine, Florence Caroline, Florence Ségolène, or Florence Vivienne.
