[Opinions] Hermione
I decided to look for a couple of actresses called Hermione ( last names added too) that I was aware of before the Harry Potter books and one after the books. WDYT of the name Hermione? WDYT of the actresses full names? Which do you prefer?Hermione Ferdinanda Gingold
Hermione Jane Norris
Hermione Isla Conyngham Corfield

My 2 year old is Hermione and I really love it. It suits her so perfectly. We still get quite a lot of people mispronouncing it. I thought HP would make it more mainstream to pronounce but she gets called her-moan-ie a lot which was surprising.

Hermione is heavy and pretentious. Hermione Ferdinanda is all that, in spades. Hermione Isla sounds trite - just the way the IE sounds echo each other, I suppose. Hermione Jane is the best, but thematically the two names are too far apart. And then there are pronunciation issues. When the Harry Potter movies hadn't come out yet, a German-speaking friend was reading the books to her small children and - at Book Club! - told us about this and about the character she called HER MOYN. Misreading had led to the mispronunciation ...

I like, I like the character and the name is most usable now because of her. I remember before the movie how so many people thought the name was said her-mee-own lol I do worry that it's too associated with the character. Not that she's a bad character to be associated with. Hermione Isla is very pretty.

I’ve seen Hermione Norris in a few things, I like her. You’ve listed the names in the order of my preference, Hermione Ferdinanda is superb and Hermione Jane is perfectly balanced. Hermione Isla becomes Hermioneyisla and I dislike it. Isla Hermione “Hermione” would have been preferable. For extra credit: I would use Hermione Rosamund. I wish Hermione hadn’t been used in HP. The association is so strong that it makes it totally unusable for me.
