[Opinions] Gregor or George?
My Grandfather Gregor (no middle name) passed away 12 years ago due to cancer and would like to honour him in baby's name. I'm not the biggest fan of the name Gregor (he went be Greg) but I do like the name George which has the same letters, can't use his middle name instead as he didn't have one.First name will either be Declan or Ronan, we are also wanting a double middle name. Any middle name suggestions? Please state which first name goes best with either Gregor or George, as well as some 2nd middle name suggestion. Feel free to put Gregor or George into the 2nd or 3rd name slot.

I find Gregor to be a very unattractive name myself but it if you want to honor a grandfather you loved then go with Gregor, or one of its many forms (even Gregory). It'll be a middle name so even though you're also not the biggest fan your kid won't be going by it anyway.Ronon is very handsome - Ronon Gregor is a decent combo.

Definitely Gregor: George is just another name that starts with G. It's got nothing to do with your grandfather, and the only way to honour him is to use either his own given name or, if it works for you, his surname.Ronan Gregor sounds good; much better than Declan Gregor, with that repeated e sound. I'm glad you want two mns - my children have two each and it's worked well for them. Without knowing your surname, it's hard to come up with a combo that flows well, but here goes:
Ronan Gregor William
Ronan James Gregor
Ronan Gregor Sebastian
Ronan David Gregor
Ronan Gregor Hugh

My Grandfathers last name was McNicol, mine is Perry.

I'd definitely recommend Gregor. It has more strength and substance than George. George always makes me think of a cat sneezing.Declan Gregor Benedict
Declan Yannick Gregor
Declan Gregor Patrick

Hmm... I'm feeling Declan George Alistair. Declan George Lennox?

Gregor. If you want to honor someone it's my belief that you should use their name. I have several names in my family that I probably wouldn't like if it weren't for the association to a certain person. Because that person meant so much to me, the names means a lot to mean and I wouldn't dream of trying to honor a person and his name by just using the same letter. That doesn't mean much.So my answer is obviously that I think you should use Gregor. It's a middle name. Pretty much anything goes when it comes to middle names. I prefer Ronan to Declan when paired with Gregor.
