I love it. I like Gawain and Gavin, but Gavin sounds a little bro-ish and Gawain (the knight) is underrated. I like gə-WAYN, don't like GAH-win as much.

It's really silly to me, as gawain means "task" in Tagalog.

Gawain is fine in a medieval context, but the GAH sound is unappealing and the GW- of Gwain and Gwaine is worse. Luckily, Gavin is a strong, straightforward, pleasant alternative; assuming that people don't give the first syllable an ei sound (as in David). But, why should they, unless they were trying to be snide? I like Gavin enough to use, but there are no pronunciation issues where I live.
