Celeste (7/10): It is a name that little by little has been growing in me. I used to think it was ugly, and now I find it quite pretty. A good choice.

Diletta (3/10): It's the first time I've heard this name and I really don't like how it sounds. Sorry. It reminds me of the Spanish word "dilatar" which is to dilate in English. And it has sexual overtones.

Esther (5/10): I prefer the spelling Esther. Not bad, but a bit sober and serious for my taste, although it has a nice meaning.

Fiammetta (3/10): The same thing happens with Diletta. It's too strange for a name. Very Italian for my taste, I guess.

Lucilla (10/8): I like almost all versions of this name, like Lucia, Lucy or Lucille. Sounds like a lovely and romantic name to me.

Margherita (10/6): Too old-fashioned for my taste, but it doesn't sound bad at all. Maybe as a middle name...

Aurora (10/9): I love this name, despite its Sleeping Beauty relationship. It is a beautiful, feminine, romantic and classic name.

Beatrice (7/10): Not bad, it is elegant, appropriate and beautiful, although personally it is not my style.

Ginevra (4/10): I'm not convinced, I'm sorry. I can't explain why, but I don't like the name.

Irene (7/10): An excellent option, although it is not a name that makes me fall in love. Nevertheless, I think it is beautiful and pleasant.

4. Margherita - I prefer Margarita (BTW, is Margarita used in Italy?) and Marguerite, though I adore the nn Rita. 5/10

5. Fiammetta - too much. Fiamma is better than the diminutive. 4/10

6. Diletta - it has a dated sound and meaning and sounds like a brand name. 2/10

1. Aurora - nice sound and meaning, trendy but not very popular and timeless, a nature name, and overall nice. 10/10

2. Irene - beautiful meaning, fits any age. 8/10

3. Ginevra - it's nice, a down-to-earth Guinevere, but I wouldn't use it since ginebra is the Spanish word for "gin". 7/10

4. Beatrice - prefer Beatrix and Beatriz. 6/10

Lucilla is new to me. I love Lucia, so Lucilla definitely caught my eye, just lovely.

Celeste is warm and friendly. It's not popular, but still very familiar. It also has a lovely meaning.

My DH suggested Ester for our eldest DD. At the time I really disliked it, but it has definitely grown me over the years.

From your old list, my faves are Beatrice, and Irene. Both lovely classics. Beatrice is another name, like Ester, that has definitely been growing on me.

I like all of the old classics besides Irene which still feels old lady-ish to me. My fav of the new are Lucilla and Celeste, very classy. I don't really care for Margherita because in the US a margarita is an alcoholic beverage, more specifically a "partying" alcoholic beverage and I don't really care for that association. I do like the name Margaretta but it is said with a slightly different pronunciation. But overall I like this list. Can't go wrong with Ester it's a nice staple.
