My grandma's name is Genevieve and she has always gone by Jennie, so it makes sense to me. Occasionally people think she's saying Ginny, which she doesn't mind.

It works, but I personally would rather not do that. I'd prefer to just use one or the other.

Jenna is well established as a full name.

Jenna for Genevieve would bother me, with the change in initial. Genna, though, I think would work. You might get people spelling it wrong if you just say it and they don't know the full name is Genevieve? but that's not really a huge problem, as a nickname, and I don't think anyone reading it would be confused. And honestly I think it does look nicer than Jenna. I don't know, I just like the vibe better.

Personally, as a fellow Genevieve lover myself, my favorite nickname idea for it is Ginny like Ginny Weasley. Jenna/Genna is so ordinary, generic and 90s dated. Why take away from the majestic feel with boring Jenna? I'd say Ginny, Evie, or even possibly Vivi but Jenna is just unappealing to me.
