[Opinions] Jenna/Genna for Genevieve
So I’ve always loved the names Jenna and Genevieve. I personally wouldn’t use Jennifer to get Jenna, and while I’d use the latter as a standalone name, I also really love Genevieve (which has a very similar sound). I was wondering if using Genna (same pronunciation as Jenna, just matching the initial letter) as a nn for Genevieve would work? Or would it look weird/confusing?

My grandma's name is Genevieve and she has always gone by Jennie, so it makes sense to me. Occasionally people think she's saying Ginny, which she doesn't mind.
It works, but I personally would rather not do that. I'd prefer to just use one or the other.
Jenna is well established as a full name.
I would either do Genevieve (no nn) or Jenna on its own.
Genna looks weird to me but if you use it as a nickname for Genevieve it makes more sense.
To me they do work when it comes to the sound. But they are so different in style.
Genevieve is so dignified and Jenna is spunky (in a good way).
I would find Genevieve nn Genna odd because to me they are as different as Eleanor and Paige when it comes to the style.
Genevieve is a great classic and Jenna is a nice, spunky name that is a bit 80s/90s dated.
Still it works. So if you like it, do it!

Jenna for Genevieve would bother me, with the change in initial. Genna, though, I think would work. You might get people spelling it wrong if you just say it and they don't know the full name is Genevieve? but that's not really a huge problem, as a nickname, and I don't think anyone reading it would be confused. And honestly I think it does look nicer than Jenna. I don't know, I just like the vibe better.
Yes, it would work, I quite like it!
Another nickname I'd consider is Geneva.

I like Jenna Jennifer and Genevieve but wouldn't use Genna
