I used to think it was horrid (orcs, ew), but that was before Astrid, Sigrid, Opal, and Lilac became some of my favorite names.
It's definitely striking...also kind of awkward but not necessarily in an off-putting way. It seems like it'd be a cool name to call someone.
The etymology is funny. I wouldn't be too bothered by that if it were my name. I'd claim flower symbolism as the meaning, considering that'd be the inspiration for the name, anyway.
Ori would work ok as a NN (not that it needs one). Or Kiki.
