Bettany WDYT?Bettany Hughes is an English Historian and writer born in 1968. Personally I don’t mind Bettany but I think you would be constantly correcting people who think it’s Bethany

Strange name, it sounds like something is off.Just stick to either Bethany or Betty.

Bethany is better. I also think, “Bet, Annie.” never heard of the writer.

My first thought was of the actor Paul Bettany.Makes me wonder if Bettany is a family name for the historian/writer.It's okay, but I prefer/love the similar Betony.

I like her TV programmes, or their subjects, but she's a bit too breathy for my taste. I prefer Bettany to tired Bethany; I prefer Bethan to both, and there was another TV person, also on the Beeb I think, at one time called Betsan. I found myself really liking it! Betsy is I think my favourite nn for Elizabeth, and Betsan gives it a pleasantly Welsh flavour.
