I like her TV programmes, or their subjects, but she's a bit too breathy for my taste. I prefer Bettany to tired Bethany; I prefer Bethan to both, and there was another TV person, also on the Beeb I think, at one time called Betsan. I found myself really liking it! Betsy is I think my favourite nn for Elizabeth, and Betsan gives it a pleasantly Welsh flavour.

I prefer Bethan, Bethany or Betony.

I'm not a fan. Bethany or Betty.

My first thought was of the actor Paul Bettany.
