[Opinions] Magdalena and Marguerite
I like the idea of the nickname Maggie but am not particularly into plain old Margaret. Marguerite feels like a more youthful and fun alternative and I also like the idea of Magdalena "Maggie" as well. The main problem with Magdalena though being the awkward sound of the GD transition. It's definitely "clunky" of a sound. Plus people have varying views on Magda in general. Plus in the US I feel like any and all Marguerites would just be called Margaret regardless. WDYT?

I kinda like Magda? However, my only association with it is Magda Goebbels and yeah no. Marguerite is sweet, though I slightly prefer Margherita and Margarida.
I prefer Margaret to Marguerite; partly because anyone can pronounce it! Maggie is OK. I find Magdalena very clunky, but I like Magdalen a lot.
I much prefer Magdalena “Maggie”. Margaret is so dusty and serious and boring and while Marguerite has a fresher, more youthful vibe, I’d still choose Magdalena. Actually I’d be inclined to use Maggie as a full name, or as a nn for Magnolia.
I like them both
Maggie, as a nickname for Margaret, is definitely dated.
Marguerite is a nicer option, but yes, Marguerite people would be called Margaret, unless Maggie predominates.
I also like Magdalena "Maggie", but my favourite nickname for Magdalena is Lena, although Magda and Maggie aren't bad options.
What about Margot nn Maggie? It's cute, not old and no-nonsense.

I second this, Margot nn Maggie is perfect, its short sweet easily pronounced and spelled and ages well :)
What about Megara? That is the heroine from Hercules. She was always my favourite :)
Otherwise, I like Magdalene. I think Magdalena is too much.
