It's veeery lovely and it should be more common - one of my favourite gem names.
But I like Sapphire more since it's the traditional form.
Sadly, I won't be able to use Sapphire on a girl since it's too foreign here, however, I can always count on Zafira, which looks like it's derived from the Spanish word for sapphire - zafiro!
