I actually prefer Héloïse to Eloise. It just looks more complete to me.

I always did like her Handy Household Hints column in Good Housekeeping.

I think Eloise is beautiful, but the H of Heloise doesn't appeal to me.

Don't like it, but Eloise is lovely, hate the Hel part

Eloise is more asthetically appealing than Heloise. The H seems more harsh.

My mother, whose French was pretty good, once met a woman who introduced herself as HELLoyz. And didn't show a flicker of emotion until she got home, when for hours she had the puzzled look I associate with dogs with water in their ears.

I love Eloise and would seriously consider using it; but Heloise is too risky.
