[Opinions] "Drew" on a girl?
What do you think of the name "Drew" on a woman?Would you instantly think of the famous actress "Drew B.?" Or has pop culture moved on from that?I'm thinking of using it for a heroine of mine, she'll be named Jean Drew & occasionally go by "J.D" to close friends and family.Drew ? Jean Drew?Market women who talk all at once

If I heard it, rather than saw it, I'd assume it was a nn for Drusilla - Dru, rather than Drew.

I instantly think of Drew Barrymore. Otherwise, I would assume it was a nickname and not her real name. For a character, I think it works just fine.

Don't really like it, first thought Barrymore

I like it.
I guess it's probably out of fashion, though - and I guess I wouldn't ever use it as a first name, because I myself would not want to be a gal with a dadname.
Jean Drew is alright. Seems very minimalist.

Actually don't like Jean Drew together

I don't like it for either gender. It does remind me of Drew Barrymore on a girl. I also don't think Jean Drew sounds very nice together, although for a character I am less concerned.

I do partially think of Drew Barrymore because she's the only female Drew I know with the name, but I also think of a male actor named Drew Starkey, along with football player Drew Brees. I really do not care for the name Drew on a girl. It's not even that bad or anything, something just sounds off about it to me. The name Drew makes me think of naturally brewed ice tea, I find it handsome on a boy, but on a girl, it's a 2/10. On a brighter note, it can make a good middle for a girl.I also read a comment by a girl named Drew in the comment section and it kinda made me feel bad.

Maybe as a nickname for Drusilla.

Its OKAY on a girl, but I think its really unfair to guys. They don't have as much luck wearing feminine names. I love it on a boy, I like it better than Andrew for some reason. However, as a nickname for both genders, I LOVE Andy.

I don't like it on a girl and would associate it with Drew Barrymore.
