Belle is the superior NN, Bella is too dog-like at the moment. Every time I hear someone say it I expect to see a cocker spaniel to round the corner.

Bella just isn't worth stretching for. Isabel is a pleasant classic, but Bella ... every second dog on a lead seems to be Bella, no doubt because the others are male.
