[Opinions] Hadassah & Mordecai
As you probably know, these two names come from the book of Esther.• Thoughts on them, both separately and as a sibset?
• What middle names would you use?
• What would you name a brother and a sister?
• What nicknames would you use if you had to?masculine list: https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/191050/124079
feminine list: https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/191050/124080

Hadassah is beautiful. If I had to use a nickname, then Haddie.
Mordecai sounds a bit awkward, but it could be a fun name for a character. I associate the name with someone who is into simple living, plain dress, and industriousness. It may be the Amish who give me this association.I do not care for them as a sibling set. It would be neat if a man named Mordecai ended up with a niece named Hadassah like in the story of Esther. In keeping with the Biblical theme...
A sister named Jemima or Keziah would be cute. Miriam or Rachel would compliment it as well.
For a boy, Balthazar, Jesse, Daniel, Ezra, or Nathaniel. Moses would be cool, but those are some big boot to fill. Gideon could work too. Personally, I would tie Hadassah with a shorter and more common middle name.
Hadassah Mavis
Hadassah Isabel
Hadassah Ceres
If we are going all Biblical, then Hadassah Eve.

Well, as you know, in the Bible, they weren't siblings, Mordecai was Hadassah's cousin & guardian. Thoughts on them? Hadassah a Jewish Slave was the main character in a Christian historical fiction book by Francine Rivers. If you're an avid reader, you might have come across the book. I have no thoughts on the name barring what was portrayed in the Book of Esther. Hadassah (Esther, as her name was changed) is a clever, fastidious Jewish girl who rises up from nothing to become the queen consort of King Ahaseurus of Persia and saves her people with the help of her wise cousin, Mordecai, form extermination by a vengeful Haaman.

Would I name a brother and sister that? Unless I were a staunch Jew, which I am not, then no. Way too heavy, I think. Plus, it would just feel like I'm advertising my knowledge of the Old Testament..
Nicknames for Mordecai, does not exceed "Cai" or "Kai". Mordy?
Cannot for the life of me come up with a nickname for Hadassah.

- Hadassah I love, it’s such a beautiful name. Mordecai I don’t like, it’s just not appealing to me. - Hadassah Charity and Mordecai Judah - Hadassah, Eliezer and Keziah / Mordecai, Hezekiah and Tabitha - Hadassah “Dass” or “Haddie” / Mordecai “Mordy” or “Cai”
