*for those that wonder why my favorite Evangeline isn't here it's because I'm 100% sure I want to use it (unless my future partner hates it of course) so feedback really isn't needed at this point for it tbh. But feedback on which ones would sound nice with it is still welcome of course*Please rate my "Names I would Use" list. Feel free to rate some of my other lists too if you want.

Names I think are a style match for Evangeline: (ratings based on personal preference)Seraphina: 4/10 not my favorite, but a perfect match for Evangeline. Evangeline is angels and evangelism and Seraphina is seraphs. They're very Christian together, in a fashionable, American mommy blogger sort of way. My rating is just based on the sound of the name which is not for me.
Genevieve: 7/10 an elegant and vivacious name. I don't care for the "genna" syllable though. The French pronunciation is lovely.
Delphinia: 6/10 I might be a little confused by sisters named Evangeline and Delphinia! They sound like style matches but one makes me think of the Oracle of Delphi and ancient Greek religion and the other one makes me think of evangelism.
Romilda: 7/10 kind of a witchy name with the -ilda suffix, I like it, feminine and strong.
Astrid: 5/10 slightly trendy and very fashionable in the same way as Evangeline. I think this name is divisive, people will love or hate the sound.
Ingrid: 7/10 like Astrid but more accessible for English speakers, with no troubling as- syllable and extra elegance from the Ingrid Bergman association.
Daphne: 7/10 another great style match, I love the abruptness of the "phn" consonants together but I dislike the "Daph" syllable.
Diana: 10/10 beautiful and elegant name.
Claudia: 7/10 something about the "dia" ending feels too sweet to me, but it's a beautiful name, and I love the Spanish pronunciation.
Ivy: 6/10 too close to IV for me, but I like how it repeats the V in Evangeline

Elodie - upbeat and cute, but a bit fly away and incomplete. 7/10
Seraphina - Beautiful. It reminds me of music and has a lot of possibilities for nicknames. 9/10
Lavinia - Pretty and old-fashioned. The lav bit makes me think of washing, which is better than being dirty I suppose. I go back and forth in regards to how much I like it. 7.5/10
Genevieve - Cute & vivacious. I like that the ending is a bit different from the usual. It isn't a personal favorite, but it is nice. 8/10
Delphinia - It sounds like a cross between a high priestess and a botanical reference, so it would be neat to meet one, but it is a lot. The nickname Delphi could be fun. I would want to know more about the festival to Apollo by the same name. 7/10
Romilda - I feel like I should like it more than I do. It is a strong name, and I like both Romilly and Matilda. It seems more abrasive somehow. 6/10
Astrid - A tad astringent, but nice over all. 7/10
Ingrid - Beautiful but not in a showy way. It is the sort of name that emphasizes or draws attention to certain aspects of the bearer. A reserved Ingrid might come across as remote and severe while a refined Ingrid would make the name seem like gorgeous ice crystals. For that, I’m subtracting a point. 9/10
Daphne – Pretty. The potential nickname Daffy is a drawback. 7.5/10
Diana – Goddess of the hunt meets Grandma with cigarette. Both versions of Diana kick butt; however, they aren’t the warmest individuals. Diana seems more likely then Artemis to have a hunter killed by his own hounds even though both versions of the goddess probably wound do it. 7/10

Elodie - 4/10 it wants to be extra pretty and dainty but I think it ends up coming across as trying too hard
Seraphina - 6/10 it's pretty but it's a lot and I can't think of a nn I like
Lavinia - 8/10 great old lady name, I really like it, it's sweet
Genevieve - 5/10 to me it's another name that's trying really hard, like it wants to be elegant, I think it mostly fails but it's not a bad name
Delphinia - 2/10 taking a name that's already kinda frilly and adding an even frillier ending to it is definitely nms, and even Delphine already doesn't sound good to me, it's heavy and sticky
Romilda - 6/10 it's ok. Romy is a cute nn. Romilda wouldn't be my first choice of getting that nn but I can see the appeal, it's a strong name with a kind of naturey vibe to me
Astrid - 7/10 strong and crisp! I like it!
Ingrid - 5/10 heavier than Astrid but still crisp
Daphne - 2/10 I never liked this name, it's thick and viscous
Diana - 9/10 it's fresh but grounded, I like looking at it, it's just pleasant
Claudia - 5/10 it's fine, I don't like the "cl" sound but it doesn't bother me too much
Ivy - 8/10 lovely but not cutesy
Serena - 5/20 I don't really like it, there's something off-putting to be about the way it looks
Mira - 6/10 it's cute although a bit heavier that Kira
Kira - 7/10 strong and energetic
Tabitha - 7/10 it's delicate but not too mushy
Lyra - 6/10 I feel like it has the potential to grow on me but for now I don't love it, it seems a bit too abrasive to me

Elodie - as if Melody had stood too close to the hedge clippers. Unattractive and pointless.
Seraphina - prefer Angela; don't like the full name or any possible nns
Lavinia - La-La Land? Quite pleasant for a mn, but heavy for everyday use
Genevieve - getting trendy for a reason I can't see. The French pronunciation is better, but probably wouldn't happen. Much prefer Jennifer.
Delphinia - one delphinium, two Delphinia? Nonsense!
Romilda - Roma would be less Harry Potter, but also less pretty. 50%.
Astrid - very lovely, but where I live one sits on the arse, not the ass, so that isn't a problem.
Ingrid - not my favourite -rid name; bland and flabby. (I love Sigrid!)
Daphne - quite pleasant if Daffy can be avoided
Diana - lovely as a mn; Di is depressing and inevitable. What about Dinah?
Claudia - very formal, but I like it
Ivy - one of my least favourite plants. Starts with I - conceited!
Serena - a sporty kind of name, but I don't enjoy watching Ms Williams, so not keen
Mira - it's OK, but I'd prefer Mirabel or Miranda
Kira - better than Ciara because the pronunciation is more obvious. I suppose it might rhyme with Mira! Hollywood trendoid
Tabitha - quite pretty; shortens, unfortunately, to Tabby; I much prefer Talitha
Lyra - a one-owner name, chosen because the character could fib her way out of trouble! No, really.

Damn a pretty scathing review. No I don't like Lavinia because of LA LA Land I've actually never seen it. Evangeline & Lavinia were actually the first names I've considered using on a future daughter, circa age 12. Oh and unfortunately Dinah wouldn't really work since the idea of Diana is for my middle name as an honor but I appreciate the thought. Plus I kind of miss the mark on seeing how Dinah would avoid Di anymore than Diana would? But thank you. George-Anya? I've never heard it said that way before here but what an intriguing pronunciation! I actually think Sigrid is ugly and makes me think of a sea witch covered in seaweed. I don't really care for Angela it's definitely the most middle aged & elderly of the Angel- names, and very dry. Like the last stale cracker on a post party spread tray. Talitha sounds like a stripper or cheap prostitute name to me. Not that I don't respect strippers or prostitutes of course but I wouldn't necessarily name a daughter after one. Jennifer is so aged and overused here there is literally a support group online for them. I don't really see people using it anymore for a long time besides the occasional later-in-life first time moms that aren't as socially present. Thanks for all the well thought out insight Anneza! :)

"sea witch covered in seaweed" is a great descriptor of Sigrid. Makes me love it even more.

I like most of these names. Elodie, Seraphina, Lavinia, Genevieve, Ingrid, Daphne, Diana, Claudia, Ivy, Serena, Mira, Kira, Lyra, Elisabeth, Primrose, Georgiana, Juliana, Lavender, Lilac, Violet, and Hyacinth are all names I either like or love.
Delphinia is good, but I prefer Delphine.
Romilda, Rosetta, Tabitha, Vada, and Astrid aren't my style.
I like Belle, but both Isabelle and Annabelle seem a little played out by now. They're still good names, but I prefer Isabelle over Annabelle.

Elodie 8/10: I do like this name, but it also seems too close to Melody. I think this is a situation where the Starbucks barista will put “Melody” on the cup, or Elodie would have to spell it out for everyone (I could see people spelling it Elody). If that doesn’t bother you, go for it. Seraphina 5/10 - the name meaning is cool. I can’t place my finger on why I’m not loving it. Lavinia 7/10 - cute vintage name. Sounds delicate. Genevieve 10/10 - this is a name I’ve recently come to love. I think people might struggle with spelling it, but I love the full name, and I don’t hate the nickname possibilities either. Delphinia 1/10 - this is a mouthful and the meanings are either womb, dolphin, or the city of Delphi. Romilda 1/10 - worked for a character in Harry Potter but I picture an older woman. To me it doesn’t have the same appeal as some of the other more vintage names. Astrid 6/10 - I became aware of this name after reading a book. I like it, but I think depending on where you are from it will sound like “ass-trid” and that makes it sound less pretty. Ingrid 4/10 - I know an Ingrid, and the name suits her but it does sound a bit harsh to me. Daphne 10/10 - I love this name, even though I’m actually so so about the meaning. I can see someone’s comment that it sounds like “daffy” but I think Daffy Duck is less significant than in the past so it’s a non issue.Diana 8/10 - I like this name a lot, like the association with the goddess. I never questioned that princess dianas nickname was sometimes “Di” but now that someone pointed that out I guess it is weird that a nickname would sound like “die.” Regardless I think this is a solid name and I like it. Claudia 1/10 - seems a bit aged to me. Ivy 10/10 - love nature names. I think this is a cute name. Serena 7/10 - pretty name and the meaning is nice and gentle. Mira 7/10 - pretty. I am pronouncing “mee-rah” in my head. Some might pronounce “my-rah.”

Elodie: 9 (one letter makes a ton of difference - I don't like Melody at all, or most Mel- names)
Seraphina: 7 (I think Seraphine is less fussy)
Lavinia: 10
Genevieve: 9
Delphinia: 4 (I don't like Delphine either, or any "delph" name)
Romilda: 6 (probably the only -ild name I can tolerate)
Astrid: 2 (first syllable sounds vulgar in English, and it's one letter off "astride")
Ingrid: 4 (mildly better than Astrid)
Daphne: 7 (pretty, but also sometimes makes me think of Daffy Duck - I'm more likely to use it as a middle)
Diana: 7
Claudia: 7
Ivy: 8
Serena: 8
Mira: 7
Kira: 7
Tabitha: 8 (only drawback is the nickname Tabby)
Lyra: 3 (makes me think of "liar" too much; also Lycra)
Belle (as a nickname): 5
Belle (as a legal name): 2 (very infantile to my eyes and ears)
Elisabeth: 7 (it will be misspelled constantly, though)
Primrose: 1 (I cannot get on board with this as a person's real name)
Rosetta: 7
Vada: 7
Georgiana: 2 (I have never liked any George name)
Juliana: 10
Lavender: 8
Lilac: 2 (I know it's a flower, but it sounds like I lack lies)
Violet: 10
Hyacinth: 6

The Astrid I am friends with IRL actually goes by the pronunciation Ah-strid, though yes it is a struggle for her to have it honored in the US where most people will automatically say it Ass-strid.

I guess I should have included Delphia too in conjunction with Delphinia since they are on roughly equal footing in my mind but it escaped me when creating the thread. I don't really care for the other variants as much besides Delphi as purely nickname.

Ok now I remember it was you I have spoken with before about Romilda and liking it. Yeah ik the -da names just aren't in again yet but I can't help but like it! Plus Romy is cute.

Elodie: 9/10. Glossy ballerina name, but the original Élodie spelling look cleaner. Similar vibes to Odette.
Seraphina: 7/10. Lovely sound, crystalline, but cold and over-dramatic. I prefer the Serafina spelling.
Lavinia: 8/10. Wistful widow name. I mean this as a compliment.
Genevieve 8/10. Pretty. Almost too pretty. Very smooth.
Delphinia: 1/10. Yeah, I know it was an ancient Greek festival. But it just makes me think of dolphins.
Romilda: 2/10. Heavy and meaty.
Astrid: 7/10. Beautiful and starry, if a bit conventional.
Ingrid: 9/10. Very cool in a gritty way.
Daphne: 10/10. Charming with a great meaning.
Diana: 8/10. Love the associations, bit put off by the "die" sound and how strong the association with Diana, the Princess of Wales. It's nicer than Artemis, but not as nice as Artemisia.
Claudia: 6/10. Cold and aristocratic.
Ivy: 10/10. Charming and bottle green, it will definitely become extremely popular.
Serena: 4/10. Too serene. Makes me go to sleep.
Mira: 7/10. Cool if it's MEE-ra, uncool if it's MY-ra.
Kira: 4/10. Sounds unfriendly.
Tabitha: 4/10. Dowdy, but better than Dorcas.
Lyra: 6/10. Technically pretty, but a bit heavy on the tongue, and as far as costellation names go, I prefer Cassiopeia.

That's kind of funny that you list Delphinia first, it's usually a more disliked one of my favorites on here. I'm actually pretty sure I've only talked to like 1 other person that liked it actually lol (possibly you?)
vote up2
We've never spoken about Delphinia before, so its probably me and some other person who likes it. I like "dramatic" names. That's why I like Rosanna and Primrose, they're Rose but they sound better!
I always seem to have unpopular opinions! I like being different, but it would be nice if someone agreed with me for a change (lol). I will never stop loving Delphinia/Delphina. I don't care if it reminds me of dolphins or Delfino Plaza from Super Mario Sunshine. I just so happen to like dolphins. And Mario.
