[Opinions] Bowie vs. Lennon
Which one would you choose for a boy if you absolutely had to? What would you use for a middle name? **After supposedly dying on January 30, 2007 after eating tainted pancakes, she returned several times as an angel and was revealed to be alive on May 17, 2011. )**

Lennon, because the nn Lenny is quite cute and Lennon just sounds better than Bowie. I really wouldn’t use either though. While I think The Beatles had some amazing music and David Bowie was artistically talented, I wouldn’t give my kid a name that was so tied to a public musical figure. With the exception of Elvis Presley, because I’m a big Elvis fan and like both Elvis and Presley for boys.Lennon Abraham
Lennon Gabriel
Lennon Malachi
Lennon Zacchaeus
Lennon Elliott
Lennon Wyatt
Lennon Seth
Lennon Harry
Lennon Oscar
Lennon Bartholomew
Lennon Thaddeus
Lennon Jeremiah
Lennon Judah
Lennon Chester

Lennon. Bowie sounds weirdly childish. And even then I’m not a fan of David Bowie. I am a Beatles fan, Lennon has a nice meaning, so I tend to learn more towards that.I would probably choose Lennon as a middle name though because the child’s gender would be mixed up too much. Even though I much prefer it on a male.Lennon Blake
Lennon Xavier
Lennon Brent
Lennon Gabriel
Lennon Ciaran
Lennon Isidore
Lennon Daniel
Lennon Oliver
Lennon Connor
Lennon Chase

Ha...Bowie Jack is kind of cute. Sounds Australian, in a way.

Bowie because the reference is ambiguous.
And it doesn't sound like Lenin.
I admire David Bowie a bit more than John Lennon, too.
Bo for short, I guess. I'd use a favorite name as a middle name, and hope he chose to use it instead. Bowie Damon or Bowie Nicholas.

Ugh... maybe Lennon.. Bowie is so trendy right now that I can't like it. Lennon could be Lenny which is a friend of mines nickname so it's more appealing.I'd pair it with something a bit more classicLennon Gabriel
Lennon Abraham
Lennon Ignatius
Lennon Felix
Lennon Casper
Lennon Balthasar

Every time you write your combo suggestions that way, I think it's one reeeeally long combo.

BowieBowie, at least it mostly reminds me of music. Lennon is too much like Lenin and linen, and I dislike Lenny. Also the potential meaning "descendant of victory" actually connects it with my name, so that's something, I guess. Bowie Ichabod
Bowie Attila
Bowie Casper
Bowie Nuno
Bowie Prospero
Bowie Tariel
Bowie Gilbert
Bowie Larkin

Bowie Larkin is sweet.

I'd choose Lennon because it sounds softer, and it sounds like more of a full name. I don't really like Bowie, but I like Lennon on boys and girls.Lennon Skylar, Lennon Hale, Lennon Tobias, Lennon Kendrick, Lennon Isaiah, Lennon John, Lennon Jack, Lennon Hamilton, Lennon Riley, Lennon Bradford, Lennon Hendrix, Lennon Tyler, etc.Bowie Morrison, Bowie Judah, Bowie Hamilton, Bowie Skylar, Bowie Amos, Bowie Duncan, Bowie Crawford, Bowie Lincoln, Bowie Madison, Bowie Andrew, Bowie Tyler, Bowie Addison, etc.

Neither. Lennon sounds too much like Lenin, a very different and much less appealing historical figure. Bowie named himself after a hunting knife and pronounced it wrong. To this day, people pronounce both the knife and the singer’s name wrong constantly. Both are surnames which I hate as first names anyway. I would go with John or David if I HAD to name my kid after those rock stars, but honestly those are so generic I’d probably just skip it.

Those aren't the choices, though.

Dang right.

But if you only get responders who are willing to choose one of them, you’ll get a skewed perspective on how they’d be received out in the world.I know we do lots of these, with the understanding that the comments will be biased, but sometimes the choices are so problematic that just can’t help but speak up.

Frankly, I'd use David or John. Since my son's first mn is David, I suppose that means I'd choose John. Mn ... Dylan, perhaps?
