[Opinions] Michelle
Wdyt of Michelle or Michele and what nickname? Would Micha or Misia work? Is a nickname needed? Is the name very 70s and 80s outdated?

I like Michelle on its own, without any nickname.

I prefer Michèle; a double L looks heavy and clumsy. I've known Chelly and Mich to be used as nicknames, but I don't think Michèle needs one.

I prefer Michelle. Michele, without the diacritical mark, looks incomplete and dated.Michelle doesn't need a nickname. It's nice on its own.

Hi !!!I prefer Micaela or Michaëla both pronounced mee-kah-EH-lah.Michelle is cheesy and was trendy in Italy in early 2000s and a bit later.

Any idea why it was trendy then?

English influence. For example, here in Spain:Vanessa, Jessica, Jennifer, Michael, Kevin and Richard started being used in the late 80's and early 90's, and peaked since then.

I understand but why the early 2000s like was there a movie or show with that name that was popular in Italy with the name Michelle?

Possible nickname Shelly, though it doesn't need it. I've noticed a lot of people use Michelle as a middle name.

Michelle, ma belle...I think of that song. And the former First Lady, and Full House. I actually like it. I think it’s a pretty and classic name. Doesn’t need a nickname. Michele looks incomplete.
