Since someone brought up Cloud, another of my nerdy GPs, I thought I'd ask about Light. Specifically on boys.
I know it has a negative association as the villain from Death Note, but it rolls off the tongue so easy for me and has an overall positive feeling. WDYT?

Considering the fact that my first thought when I saw this name was "like from Death Note?", that association is going to be brought up A LOT, or at least thought of.

Light Yagami, I actually don't hate him, even though he's a psychopath.
The name itself doesn't only make me think of him, but an energetic person who has a bright future ( no pun intended). I mostly think of a guy with this name. Its a really cool moniker, but it seems too bizarre for real life, and I think it would clash with other names:
Light Amira, Light Foster, Light Forrest..it sounds like you're saying "Light this person on fire./ Light the forest on fire."
Light Randall, Light Yasmine, Light Tamsin..this is hard. It'd be better to use as a middle name. Then it sounds more like,"The light of this person." Amira Light: her light.
Umm..not Kendall Light. It sounds like "kindle light", its a tad bit too corny. Its a cool name, but its very extreme and doesn't flow reasonably with most names.

It's just silly. Light beer, light heavyweight, light bulb. Call out loud for your son Light and you sound like a director hollering at the lighting crew.

It's minimalist and blunt, somewhat harshly so. I have an urge to dress it up or dim it. Or do something to it to dissuade me from thinking about calling it lightweight. Or thinking of The Unbearable Lightness of Being. Or Lite. I'm having a hard time deciding how I'd feel about it as my own name; my instinct is to dislike how innately polarizing it seems.
But it's...fine, I guess. I've called someone Bright Side longterm as a trail name before, and that at least seemed a pleasant enough thing to call someone to me. And I like many comparable names, like Candela.
I've seen a few episodes of Death Note, but that wasn't enough to remember the villain's name, apparently.
