I love it and would use it IRL if I had enough daughters. My mother had a friend named Helen; perhaps that helps, but I think I'd have loved it anyway. I wouldn't give Helena or Helene (with or without diacritals) the time of day, but Helen is wonderful.

I have a really beautiful aunt named Helen, who also looks classically Greek, so the inherited image I have of it is strong, really beautiful, ancient femininity. The fact that the sound is rather drab barely touches my impression of it.

It’s okay, but I prefer pretty much any of its variants besides Ellen. I love Helena, but Helen is just kinda, okay.

I like it, but I prefer the variants Elena, Ellen, Helena and Helene. Helen looks incomplete.

Overall, it's a pretty decent name, which fits any age.

I love Helen. It's starchy and prim but not humorless.

I don't like such a prominent hell sound. The name itself is harmless but blah. I like Ellen much better. It's a shame a little Ellen would just end up another EllaellieElianaEleanorElliot.
