It's not really my cup of tea but it's kind of cute

It’s okay. It sort of blends in with other moderately popular -aya names, especially Maya. It also sounds a bit like you’re asking “Am I a…?” so I’d avoid using it with any surname that sounds similar to a noun or adjective.

Just yesterday I took Amaia out of my PNL. I prefer Amaia to Amaya. I used to like the name a lot but now it just feels kinda bland. I prefer Maia. Simple and sweet.

It's nice, but it kind of blends with a lot of other names that start with an A and end with an A to me (such as Amelia, Anna, Anaya, Aliya, etc.).

I used to like Amaya (and Amaia) and I added them to my PNL. Currently I prefer other Basque names because I think that "the end" as meaning is quite cringy.
