[Opinions] Cassia or Cassandra?
Which do you like best? Cassia (cass - see - yah) or Cassandra?I personally prefer Cassia because it has a fresher, sharper sound to it.

I prefer Cassia and I agree with your description of it being fresher and sharper than Cassandra. Plus it's a plant which is always good in my opinion. I don't like Cash-a but I like Cass-ee-a.

I don't enjoy food names, so I'll take Cassandra. I don't like Sandra either, so I'd be holding thumbs for Cassie as a nn.

I prefer Cassia over Cassandra. I just like the sound of it better than Cassandra.

It feels kind of unisex though the “Cassi” beginning makes it similar to “Cassie” and therefore slightly more feminine sounding?

Hi !!!I actually like both.Cassandra is a long-time favourite. It is Ancient, mystical, literarian.Cassia instead is spicy, sunny, lively. Actually Cassia as well could be an Ancient Roman name.I choose Cassandra.

Cassandra. It has lots of great nickname potential, great historical and mythological context, and less confusion about the pronunciation. Really you’d just have to deal with “cuh-SAN-druh” vs. “cuh-SAWN-druh”, both of which are very pretty and essentially the same name, just accented. Cassia would get ”CASS-ee-uh”, CASH-uh”, which I don’t like at all, or “cuh-SEE-uh”. It’s a bit confusing and they sound like completely different names.

Do you find the name Cassandra to be dated? It has great history but it gives me that same late 80's/early 90's feel as Alexandra.

Nope, in fact I’d use either of those names tomorrow if I had another baby. Alexandra was our second choice for Theodora. They’re timeless.

Cassandra.
There's something about the sound of Cassia that I don't like. Plus, with Cassandra you can always use Cassia as a nickname.

Cassandra, I like how it feels regal and ancient. And I like longer names in general; there's more weight to it.
