The Evelyn family
Year One

Christi and Neofit were both born and raised in Bulgaria. They lived near each other their whole childhood, but were never very close. Christi went off to a creative arts college to achieve her dream of becoming a comic book illustrator. When she came home, she and Neofit became fast friends, and their relationship quickly turned into something more. They decided to get married, much to the chagrin of Christi’s parents. A month after they were married, Christi learned she was pregnant. She and Neofit were thrilled at the prospect of becoming parents, though they had not planned things to move as quickly as they did. They are expecting their first son in two months.

The Evelyn’s have had a very eventful year. Vlado had his first birthday, and soon after, Christi and Neofit were approached with the prospect of adoption. Deciding to take on the responsibility of a second child is a big decision, but after many long nights of discussion, they make the decision to expand their family. When they meet Rachael for the first time, they know they’ve made the right choice. They’re the perfect fit for each other, and Vlado is thrilled to have a sister. Christi and Neofit work very hard to make sure Rachael is comfortable with them. Christi had been feeling sick, but had chalked it up to nerves, until she made a visit to the doctor, and discovered that she was pregnant again. Unprecedented, but a joy nonetheless. We’ll see how Vlado feels about two sisters…

The Evelyn’s have moved! Quickly realizing their current house was getting a little cramped, they decided to find somewhere with a little more space. Bonus: their new house is closer to Neofits’s parents, meaning they get more time with their grandkids, and Christi and Neofit get some much needed alone time. Rachael has started school, and is enjoying it immensely. Christi has been working on a comic book that is expected to be very well received.

Christi’s comic book is a huge success! She is asked to travel to panels to discuss her process. She goes to a few before she begins to miss her family. Returning home feels as good as it ever has. Neofit jokingly makes her promise not to leave again, at least until all the kids are moved out. Apparently he's not fully prepared to take care of three little kids all by his lonesome. After deciding to continue staying closer to home, they also decide to try for another baby. They are quickly successful, and Christi gives birth to a little blue-eyed girl. Vlado is becoming a little fed up with the amount of girls invading his space and is putting in his request for a brother.
