[Opinions] Twin girls with boy nicknames
I'm reading a book with sisters named Samantha and Charlotte called Sam and Charlie. Their mom is Harriet but publishes under Harry to avoid discrimination based on sex. She wanted her daughters to be able to use male names if necessary. What would you pick if you had to give twin girls traditional feminine names but they had to go by traditionally masculine nicknames?I think I'd pick Harriet and Georgiana called Harry and Georgie.

I don't like giving twins matching names, but I suppose these aren't; The names need not rhyme.Michaela "Kale"
Dorothea "Teddy"Michelle "Mitch, Micthie"
Nikola "Nik, Nicky"Terra "Terry" works perfectly.
Cambria "Cam"
I made stretches for the first pair, but that's my most favorite.

I think I'd use Thomasin and Frances, and call them Tom and Frank/Frankie.

Probably CharlotteCharlie” and HarrietHarry”, but not sure if I like them together - the formal names’ endings are too similar. JosephineJo / Joey” with CharlotteCharlie” then.I also like WilhelminaWill”, LucindaLuke / Luca”, AndrasteAndy”, KailaniKai”, MarsailiMars” (last two not so traditional).

I think I'd pick either: Alexandra "Alex" & Virginia "Vinnie" orAlexandra "Alex" & Charlotte "Charlie"I love the style of a longer girly name paired with a boyish nickname for girls (very cute), but it's sad that people have to / had to pretend to be the opposite sex to avoid discrimination.*

Augusta and Wilhelmina "Gus & Bill" Though two of mine already have names you could do that with, Theodora and Edwina "Theo & Eddie" though Theodora only goes by her full name. Edwina very occasionally gets Eddie or little Eddie as my grandfather is Eddie (Edward)

I like Frances. Also Harriet, Antonia, Cecily, Georgina, Philippa ... I know a Charlene who goes by Charlie.Frank and Harry, I suppose. But it does seem an odd reason for choosing names!

I will play the game, but I pathologically need to point out that feeling like you have to perform or adopt a different gender in order to fit in, get ahead or trick people into thinking you’re worthy is wrong and people should be redirecting that energy into making a space for their true self in society. That being said,Francesca (Frankie) and Lavinia (Vinnie).

yes, and also ...It's something that's been done to death and beyond in fiction.

Lol, it's a book set in the past when you did what you had to do. I'm not making an argument for anything here, merely briefly summarizing a plot point.
