Help[Opinions] Leo-Hunter
A baby mentioned in the paper today has been named Leo-Hunter. I really don’t like it. Leo on its own I don’t mind but Hunter I’ve never liked and the two hyphenated I think is awful. What do others think though?

A fine example of two okay names (Leo is a bit trendy and Hunter is a bit surnamey, but I don't hate either of them) that sound utterly ridiculous when put together. They literally named their kid Lion Hunter...

Both names are fine separately, but not together.

The hyphenation isn't really the issue in my opinion, it's the fact that they essentially named their kid, "Lion Hunter" ); I like both names but not within the same set.

I don't like this name at all. I'd be fine with it if it weren't hyphenated.

For goodness sake, don't the parents know (or care) that lions are an endangered species?

Leo is fine, Leo -Hunter is terrible. Is it supposed to sound like “Lion-Hunter?”

Both are fine on their own, but paring Hunter with an animal name is just tacky. I think the same thing about names like Lily Rose, Autumn Meadow etc as well.

There's nothing wrong with either name, though I don't like them well enough to use either. But the combo makes him sound like, well, a lion hunter. Like Deer-Stalker or Trout-Fisher.
