[Opinions] Charlotte
Like Olivia, Charlotte is huge everywhere. Do you like it!? I don’t at all. “Char” eventually.

It doesn't feel like it should be so popular in the US, for me, I feel like less British names would be a thing and I know Charlotte is French as well but it just feels British lately. Caroline is personally so much prettier to me.

I used to hate it for years, but it grew on me with the young British princess.

Normally as a first name, I place this into the "boring but harmless" pileI still like it as a middle name if it is paired right with something with a little more flavor

I’d like it a lot more if it weren’t such a fad, but I don’t care for either sound in the name. Char and Lot are both unattractive to me. Lottie as a nickname skeeves me out with its gross sound and Charlie is too cutesy tomboy in a 90s movie kind of way.

I like Charlotte. It's a great name in my opinion. It's overused and it's still rising.

I love Charlotte. You could use Char, Charlie, or Lottie/Lotte as a nn. However, if you don't like it, I'd choose something else.

I actually really like it and it makes me sad that it's becoming so overused.

I absolutely detest it to the limits of my soul. I have a very terrible aunt named Charlotte so that's my hang up with it.

I love it

I like Lottie, but not Charlotte. I prefer Carlotta.

Yes. It reminds me of the kind of apple pie where the apples are very tart but covered with enough brown sugar and cinnamon to make it a comforting, but not pillowy taste.

It’s very sweet, but it’s so overdone. I wouldn’t use it myself. Lottie is my favourite nn.

I have never liked Charlotte: the sound and the appearance are unattractive to me, and the fact that I see the (dated and pejorative, which makes it worse) word 'harlot' inside it does not help at all. And the nns! Charlie, Sharley, Lottie, Lots ... yuck.I don't mind it as much in French: it sounds better, but it doesn't make the top half of the list there either.

It’s ok, but kind of dull.

I love Charlotte; I think it's a beautiful, elegant, classic name. I like the nicknames Lottie and Lotta but Charlie is my favorite. Despite its popularity, I don't know too many, so I'm not bored of it yet. Perhaps it would benefit from a more unique middle name... Charlotte Wren? Charlotte Amara? Charlotte Emerald? Charlotte Estelle?*
