I've always loved Adrian, and when an 18-year-old I know came out as trans and chose it as his name, I was delighted. Then he decided to use the French spelling - Adrien - and the English pronunciation, which rather spoilt it for me, though I haven't said anything. It's a big decisiion, and not my business. I wouldn't use Hadrian either, because that to me is Wall and nothing else.

Since my actual children have three names each, my standard combo for Adrian is Adrian Douglas Paul.
